Magdalena Sverlander

Magdalena Sverlander is a Swedish actress trained at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. She stars as Emma in Film i Dalarna’s upcoming Scandinavian drama-thriller Drifting in Silence, opposite Oskar Skagerberg, scheduled for release in 2026. She is currently seen in Jimmy Carr’s period comedy Fackham Hall, alongside Thomasin McKenzie and Ben Radcliffe (Apple TV/Prime Video), and plays Valentina in the Jason Bourne series Treadstone (Prime Video). She also stars as Theresa Stenmark in season two of the Nordic series Kroongetuige (RTL Network/Strix).

Magdalena received a Best Actor nomination for the lead role in the BAFTA and BFI Network-backed sci-fi drama Downtime (Storm Features) at the Women X Film Festival (UK). She also plays Kate in the Scandinavian black comedy White Guilt, opposite Ivar Forsling and Leif Endre.

She earned two Best Actor nominations for her performance as Tindra Diaz in the award-winning Scandinavian short film When Tears Have Fallen, created with parts of the team behind acclaimed series The Bridge. The film premiered at the Gothenburg International Film Festival and went on to receive more than twenty official selections and multiple awards worldwide.

Other screen credits include the BAFTA-nominated Samuel – 613, Academy Award-accredited Naked, Comedy Central’s I Live with Models, Lisa James Larsson’s Ego, Jesper Ganslandt’s Blondie, and the British comedy The Five Wives and Lives of Melvyn Pfferberg (Prime Video).

After graduating, Magdalena co-founded Underfoot Theatre Company. She wrote and produced Living Between Lies, which enjoyed successful runs in England and Sweden, premiering at The King’s Head Theatre and later being invited to STOFF in collaboration with Sweden’s National Theatre (Stadsteatern),Teater Tre (Sweden), selected for PARTS – New Performing Arts Sweden and and Festival 45 (UK).

Magdalena has extensive combat training and performs her own stunts in Drifting in Silence.
